Applications for Rollaweigh

Rollaweigh is the ultimate feed control system for a wide range of applications. Including;

Nonwovens

Rollaweigh is extremely popular in the nonwovens industry. The system is highly suitable for all dry-laid applications involving cards, garnetts, and airlay. In particular, it is an extremely important requirement for single cylinder cards and garnetts.

Buyers of nonwoven product generally purchase by roll good quantity or by measured length. With tight quality specifications it is common for producers to make overweight to avoid reject underweight product.

This means giving valuable fibre away for free!

Rollaweigh proves the control to optimise quality whislt maximising profits.

Quilting and Pillow Lines

Rollaweigh allows quilts (comforters) to be manufactured to the correct specification (Tog, thermal, weight etc), minimising the need to down-grade quilts to other ranges. The system can reduce the overall fibre consumption by making products to a tighter tolerance, closer to the lower limit of specification thus making significant fibre savings.

Worsted and Semi-Worsted Cards

As production rates have increased manufacturers have recognised the need to incorporate weight control to worsted cards. This has several advantages, including the ability to run a machine at its optimum rate without the fear of overloading. A more regular sliver from the card can also it reduces the number of passes required in gilling.

As with all carding machines, the regularity of the input has a direct influence on the regularity of output. But that is only part of the story. A regular feed to the card also ensures consistent loading on the card rollers and their card clothing. This means a more fluid movement of fibre within the machine and regular and even loadings, thus allowing conditions to be optimised for production, web quality (neps etc) and fibre breakage.

Woollen Carding Machines

Traditionally these cards were fed by weigh pans, but with the advent of high speed, wide-width carpet cards; volumetric chute feeds systems have been re-introduced to cope with the high demand whilst optimising quality.

Blending

Multiple Rollaweighs can be run together on blending operations to ensure consistency in blends at high throughput rates. Particularly important in products used for thermal bonding, or other expensive fibres.
